About

THEN

Born in Brooklyn, New York, under a Balsamic Aquarius moon and in defiance of all birth date predictions, Ilka Pinheiro has always marched to the beat of her own drumline. A passionate student of esotericism and an advocate for radical redefinitions of community care from youth, Ilka’s penchant for penetrating observation, preternatural insight, and interdimensional storytelling inspired her caregivers to lock and load her with books and avenues of expression to cultivate her creative streak and keep her out of grown folks’ business.

Her love of the arts and interest in world history and human behavior led to a scholarship at a New England boarding school, then to Northwestern University, where she studied theatre and psychology, and onward to Columbia University, where she honed her writing craft under the tutelage of luminary authors such as Paul Beatty, Heidi Julavits, Victor LaValle, and Gary Shteyngart.

 NOW

Via the eponymously named TheIlkaPinheiro, Incorporated (T.I.P), she guides a global clientele toward reconnection with their elevated, expansive, and empowered selves.
