Fall Back into Self-Care

As the nights grow longer and colder, it can feel tempting to bury ourselves under blankets and movies, emerging only for pee breaks and applesauce replenishment. Factor in all of everything that’s been transpiring in our human community and the thought of finding a rock, crawling under it, and refusing to emerge might feel like the move. But don’t go full Rip Van Winkle just yet, beloveds – and if you must, please refrain from entering the hermitage until after you vote (or if you’re unable or unwilling to vote, at least dance a jig, make a wish, or cast a spell for those of us that do and for outcomes that will benefit us all).

For the majority of us who are inclined (and obligated) to stay awake and interact with the world – let’s keep up with our B vitamins (lentil soup, anyone?) our omega-3s (walnuts are delicious and look like tiny brains!) and good ol’ tryptophan (I personally enjoy baby bananas, which are the cutest.) Check in with your faves – something as simple as an emoji or gif via text message can often mean the world to someone. Wash your hands, employ the vampire cough method, and for the love of Pete, wear your scarves! Plus: move. your. energy – sing in the shower, dance in your living room, cry into your pillow – it’s all making space, it’s all valid, and it all has the capacity to help you heal you and help you vibrate higher.

We’re all in this together, bbs.
